Show The amount of such interest paid from September II, 1830, to •Tune 30, 1903,is $1,104,130.44- This office doe3 not believe that the Indians 3hould be charged with thi3 interest if they are al30 to be required to reimburse the United States in the amount of the principal of their trust fund, notwithstanding the seeming admission of the claimants (petition paga 20) that they may properly be debited with the interest. However,that is a mattar that may properly be determined in the suit. In Paragraph VII of the petition the petitioners pray that a call be made by the Court of Claims upon the Secretary of the Interior for certain papers and information,including the following pertaining to the records of this office:- "One each of the original multiple copies of tha contracts betv/een the petitioners and the attorneys named in Senate 3111 Ho, 1222, a copy of which is hereto attached Sthd made a part hereto, the said contracts bearing date respectively Hovember 7, 1396, October 31, 1896, and July 1, 1897,and ona copy each cf all assignments on file affecting said contracts." "A statement showing the money3, if any, paid to the Uintah Utas of Utah from tha fund3 of petitioners,and if paid, rrhethsr paid from the portion of the White River Utes or from the general fund of petitioners." It i3 presumed that the formal call will "oe made by the Court in due course,and that it will be satisfactory to- 7 have the papers called for furnished at. that time..
