Temporary Bridge at Devil's Gate. The first bridge to span Devil's Gate in the mouth of Weber Canyon was a beautiful work of art in wood and iron which was tied to both banks with cables….but didn't hold. Just a few days before the May 10th ceremony in 1869, the bridge washed out and Union Pacific Officials destined for the ceremony were caught on the wrong side of the bridge. ?ucting temporary trestle at ?ils Gate, Weber Canyon.
