Dr Jarcho was born in New York City in 1916. Dr Jarcho received his B.A. from Harvard College. Dr Jarcho received his M.D. from Columbia in 1941 and did his Internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston in 1942-1943. Dr Jarcho completed his Residency in Medicine in 1947-1948, and a second Residency in Psychosomatic Medicine 1948 Mt Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr Jarcho was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins in Physiology from 1946-1947. Dr Jarcho was additionally a Fellow of Medicine from 1948-1950 and a Fellow at the National Foundation in Infantile Paralysis from 1950-1952. Dr Jarcho joined the faculty of the University Utah in 1952. Dr. Jarcho was Chief of Medical Service 1957-1958 and Chief of Neurology Service from 1959-1962 at the VA Hospital. Dr He was Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1953-1961 and was named Associate Professor of Medicine in 1961. He was Assistant Professor of Neurology from 1959-1960, Associate Professor of Neurology from 1960-1963, and became Professor of Neurology in 1963. He was named to Neurology Division in 1959 and become Head in 1965. Dr Leonard Jarcho was Chief of the Division of Neurology from 1959-1964 and Chair of the Department of Neurology from 1965-1982. Dr Jarcho died in 1996. |
