Additional Information George Romney (1831-1920) was born in England and came with his family to Utah in 1850. A carpenter by trade, he founded the George Romney Lumber Company and oversaw the construction of the Hotel Utah, the Deseret National Bank building, and other structures. He served as a bishop and as president of the Quorum of Seventy in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
