Calculation of area and volume for the south part of the Great Salt Lake, Utah

During 2002 through 2004, the USGS in cooperation with the Utah Department of Natural Resources collected bathymetric data for the south part of the Great Salt Lake. These data were collected to better define the areal extent of a deep high-density brine layer, provide data for improved calculation of area and volume, and provide lake-bottom contour information that could be used in developing a general circulation model of the lake.
