Sir: I am in receipt of your letter of May 19 rel­ative to the desire of your Department to abandon Fort Duchesne, Utah, aa a military station. The appointment of a civilian Superintendent of th* Uintah and Ouray Agency, ~Y/hiterock3, Utah, has been under consideration for some time. It is antici­pated that some action can be taken.;, in the immediate future, of which you will be promptly advised.
