Letter from William Stuart (perhaps) who is a civilian warning U.S. Marshal B.B. James about a young white girl being held by Indians. The Marshall gave the letter to a Colonel Lewis who passed it on to his superior General Gibbon who is in turn sending it to the Office of Indian Affairs. |
