Subject |
High Intracranial Pressure/Headache |
Description |
Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), a disease classically occurring in women with obesity, is characterised by raised intracranial pressure (ICP). Weight loss leads to reduction in ICP. Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) agonism reduces cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) secretion and ICP. The potential mechanisms by which weight loss reduces ICP are unknown and was the focus for this study. |
