Utah County: Nunn Power Plant, about four miles up Provo Canyon. Site of Nunn's first Utah power plant (1897). L. L. Nunn had developed the first alternating current transmission line in Colorado. However, from his plant in Provo Canyon A.C. power was transmitted over the first 44,000 volt long distance line to Mercur, the first all-electric powered mining community in Utah and maybe the whole country. |
