"These illustrations are based on the poem "The Goblin Market" by Christina Rosetti. Veronica loved designing the ever colorful, wistful descriptions of all the goblins from Rossetti's poems. Making this and the setting convey the strong emotional beats from this story was important in reflecting a very human experience experienced by all." From the artist. Two illustrations are displayed. The first shows two characters hiding behind a tree in the forest, one of which peaking around to watch the goblins. The second drawing features, presumably the same two characters, sharing a bed. One sleeps soundly while the other appears distraught, sat up and leaning on to the window sill beside them. This work was displayed as part of the 2024 Illustration Capstone exhibition. |
