Description |
Autosomal-recessive ophthalmoplegia is associated with the MNGIE syndrome (mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy) (388,389). Patients with the MNGIE syndrome also have mild peripheral neuropathy, leukoencephalopathy, and gastrointestinal symptoms (recurrent nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea) with intestinal dysmotility. |
