Description The Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) allows for non-invasive, high-resolution imaging of the macular ganglion cell layer (GCL) that could provide diagnostic value in clarifying diagnoses of multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). The aim of this study is to distinguish patterns of GCL loss caused by optic neuritis in different types of central nervous system demyelinating diseases, namely relapsing-remitting MS (RR MS), primary or secondary progressive MS (PR MS), astrocyte aquaporin 4 (AQP4) neuromyelitis optica (NMO), and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG).
