| Description | Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) is a disorder of elevated intracranial pressure of unknown cause. The raised pressure on the optic nerves results in papilledema with subsequent visual loss. The first presentation to the medical community for a small percentage of patients is usually sudden, severe headache, profound papilledema and rapid visual acuity and/or visual field loss. |
