Description |
Surgical excision remains the mainstay of treatment for meningiomas. Unfortunately, tumor location and proximity to vital neural structures (e.g., cavernous sinus) often limits tumor resection. In patients with subtotally resected tumors, radiation therapy remains the preferred first line in adjunctive therapy. In contrast to the hormonal therapies, the chemotherapeutic agent hydroxyurea has been used with some success in clinically malignant tumors. |
