Description Dr Castleton was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1903. Dr Castleton received his A.B. from the University of Utah (1923); M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania (1927) and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota (1933). Dr Castleton was Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery; Dean of the College of Medicine (1962-1969) and Vice President for Medical Affairs (1969-1971). Dr Castleton was instrumental in the development of University Medical Center fundraising campaign. Dr Castleton served on the University Hospital Board and Advisory Council. Dr Castleton received the University Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1972 and was awarded an honorary degree of a Doctor of Humane Letters in 1974. Dr Castleton died in 1993.
