In patients with vascular risk factors, acute sustained hypotension can precipitate ischemic optic neuropathy. We evaluated three patients who developed ischemic optic neuropathy after a sudden and prolonged drop in arterial blood pressure. All three patients had pre-existing risk factors of chronic hypertension, uremia and anemia. |
