Description Letters from Allen H. Lundgren in Germany to wife Ruth in Salt Lake City during May of 1945, while serving in the U.S. Army's Counter Intelligence Corps during World War II. The letter of May 3 mentions hearing of Hitler's death and learning about the concentration camps. May 8's letter notes the German surrender (VE-Day) and Churchill's radio address. Allen wonders what is in store for him, hoping not to be redeployed to the Pacific theater of war.
