Dear Sir: You)' letter of Hay loth was received in the absence of the writer, which will explain delay in replying to your communication. We, of course, are very'much interested in anything that will have the effect of bringing in outsiders and settling up the lands on or contiguous to the line of our road. It is not possible under Interstate Commerce regulations to make a rate for settlers that is not open to the public. However, to get around this restriction, we have made a series of excursion rates from Denver to various Utah points, and for your information I am enclosing copy of our Circular- Ho. 84 outlining the rates and dates for a series of half rate excursions during the coming Sumner season, and also a copy fc-f our Circular No. 07 naming rates that will be in effect from Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Trinidad on the first, third and fourth Thursdays of each month. Whereas these rates are made open for the public, they were made primarily to take care of the homeseeker business. The same rates and arrangements are outlined in a Low Rate Circular, copy of which I enclose herewith. |
