Show GLOW FROM JAGGED HILLS When lovers walk the desert, hear the strange Sounds there at dusk, they are forever part Of this wild beauty where the brilliant change Of colors quickens rhythms of the heart. Brown-saffron shadows roll across the land, Magenta shawls the arid earth which sun Has burned to eerie wilderness; the hand Wears sudden fire that holds another one. Soft lights reflected in their eyes will share The glow from jagged hills, and whispered words Will travel over rock and sagebrush where Their echoes join the call of nesting birds. That love is lasting, crucibled in flame. Which hears the desert singing in its name. |
