Davis discusses how her birth defect may have been caused by nuclear testing. She is the third daughter of four, and her mother often traveled between Price and Long Beach while pregnant with Davis. She is the only daughter who has a birth defect, which was discovered after seeing a doctor for infertility. She had traumatizing experience with the first doctor and could not speak up about her birth defect until meeting Dr. Brockbank which led to a publication in a medical journal about her condition.
