Andrew Vernon is the oldest son shown in this photo. He was a prominent citizen, being a member ot the Uintah School Board and president of Emerald Oil. Company. He served as a land appraiser for many years, also a bee inspector and a school teacher. He was born to William Preston and Cynthia Moody Vernon in Little Blaine, Kentucky in 1875. His older siblings not pictured were James Cordial Vernon, Ellen Cordial Vernon, E. Elizabeth Vernon, William P. Vernon, and Peter W. Vernon. He and his brother Thomas J. are standing behind his parents. Sisters are on each side of them, Left is Martha and Lillie is on the right. This photo was taken before he came to the Ashley Valley. |
