Show }A< -7- As before indicated, married women, except the small number who may be under eighteen years of age, are not entitled to allotments. This ie regarded as an injustice. It can be remodied, however, if an agreement should be concluded with the Indians, by insertir^j therein a clause providing for allotments to auoh members of the tribes as failed to receive them under the Act. Instructions for your guidance under the 2nd section of the Act will be given you when you are ready to enter upon that part of your work. It is not expected that you will enter upon your duty under these instructions until you have fully completed your work as members of the Uncompahgre Commission. Very respectfully, •^ln/ /?
