Additional Information Cascade Creek diversion dam and flume are in southern San Juan County, Colorado. San Juan Water and Power Company operated this facility in the early 20th century. Incorporated in 1909 and based at Silverton, San Juan County, the company provided cheap electrical power to the San Juan Mining District around Silverton, as well as to Durango. By 1914, it had become part of Western Colorado Power Company, a predecessor of Rocky Mountain Power
