fimbria; Oviduct |
Description |
Do not let this slide confuse you. Although the oviduct is a tube, finger like projections, the fimbria project towards the ovary. The lower half of this field contains blood vessels. At the time of ovulation, the fimbria fill with blood and more or less encase the ovary helping make sure that the ovum is taken up into the oviduct. UCLA Histology Collection. |
