Description |
Apraxia of lid opening (ALO) is an uncommon but disabling non-paralytic motor syndrome characterized by difficulty in initiating lid opening at will. ALO is associated with extrapyramidal disorders and essential blepharospasm, and botulinum toxin treatment has been effective in improving eyelid motility in some cases. A variety of locations for effective and non-effective injections, have been reported. Previous reports of pretarsal/preseptal injections have suggested a need for injecting both the upper and lower lid. |
