Description The Silver Island Mountains are a northeast-trending range extending from six miles west of the Utah-Nevada border near Wendover, to about 32 miles northeast of Wendover, Utah, (see fig. 1) The range is in the northeast part of the Basin and Range Province and is a part of the Great Salt Lake Desert. The Silver Island Mountains are situated in western Tooele and southwestern Box Elder Counties, Utah, and in eastern Elko County, Nevada.
