Description |
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) occurs predominately in women of reproductive age. There has been debate surrounding the role of hormonal contraception (HC) and IIH in the literature over the past several decades. Well controlled studies have failed to find strong evidence of a causal link between hormonal contraception and IIH. Despite this, patients are often asked about contraceptive use and even counseled to discontinue contraceptives after being diagnosed with, or suspected of having, IIH. Our goal was to determine the frequency with which this occurs. |
