Description |
Birdshot Chorioretinopathy (BSCR) is a chronic, bilateral posterior uveitis strongly associated with HLA-A29. It is characterized by yellow-white fundus lesions, vitritis, retinal vascular leakage, and optic nerve head leakage. Etiology of BSCR remains debatable, although autoimmune and viral theories have been proposed. If left untreated, BSCR can lead to vision loss from macular edema, RPE atrophy, or optic nerve atrophy. |
