Additional Information The Columbus power plant was built on Little Cottonwood Creek five miles from the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon in 1903-1904. Knight Consolidated Power Company ran lines to providee power for the Columbus Consolidated Mining Company's mine at Alta, five miles further up. The station became part of Wasatch Power Company in 1913, which in 1929 merged into Utah Power and Light.
