U OPHTHALMOLOGIST TO LEAD MEDICAL FACULTY PRACTICE GROUP

Randall J. Olson, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, is the new head of the medical Faculty Practice Organization (FPO) for the U Health Sciences Center. Olson, who also is director of the U's John A. Moran Eye Center, succeeds James L. Parkin, M.D., who resigned as chair of the medical school's surgery department and first FPO chair because of health reasons. FPO primarily markets and contracts for products and services of the medical faculty.
