Description Kristen Ries, M.D., professor of internal medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine, was recently nominated, along with 44 other physicians nationwide, for the 1999 Humanism in Medicine Award presented by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Ries is well-known as a physician advocate in the treatment of AIDS and HIV-infected patients in Utah and the Intermountain West.
