Crypts of the palatine tonsils are lined by stratified squamous epithelium. The lymphoid tissue can be seen organized in nodules. A connective tissue capsule partially surrounds the tonsil. Note the skeletal muscle which is associated with the palatine tonsil. UCLA Histology Collection. |
