Abstract Ms. DeFreitas was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, in 1949. She graduated from Montclair State College, now Montclair State University, in 1971, with a degree in biology and an emphasis in education, and then relocated to Utah the same year. She received a Master's of Education degree at the University of Utah. She discusses her employment with Save Our Canyons and her major involvement with such Friends of the Great Salt Lake. Interview is part of the Utah Environmentalists Oral History Project. Interviewer: Rob DeBirk
