Description These pictures show the varied routine of the smelter camp life. Picture "A" typifies the habitual neatness of the Japanese residents - this shows "clean-up" time for the camp and shows them busily tidying up the camp area. Note the typically Japanese way of hauling away the rubbish - the two Isseis carrying the large container on the long pole. Picture "B" is my father and my brother, Isarm. Some of the camp residents raised poultry (turkeys, chickens). Note the root cellar entrance where vegetables were stored and especially note the tsukemono drying on the roof preparatory to being processed for winter use.
