Description Denver and Rio Grande Western RR dome coach #1248. This coach had 24 seats. It was originally built for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad circa 1948-1949 for the ill-fated Chessie Train by the Budd Company in Red Lion, PA. It was bought by the Rio Grande in 1950 for use on trains #1 / #2, The Royal George between Denver and Salt Lake City via Colorado Springs and Pueblo on the Royal Gorge route. Series 1248-1250.
