Description R. C. Gemmell Memorial Employees Club at Bingham Canyon, Utah Club houses and other employee recreational facilities managed by employee elected Board of Directors.
Comment Gold, silver, lead, and then copper were mined in Bingham. General Patrick Conner's men from Fort Douglas actually staked the first claim in the canyon. At its peak, Bingham was seven miles long but less than a city block wide. The town was unincorporated in 1971 and demolished to make way for further mining development.
