PX-400-301 PRESIDENT KENNEDY CONSERVATION TOUR. President John F. Kennedy and party stopped over in Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 26 and 27, 1963, during a conservation tour which took him through many of the western Reclamation states. Before his departure on the 27th a short ceremony was held at the municipal airport at which he pressed a key to start the first value generator at Flaming Gorge Dam in Utah.
