Comment In the 1880's, the Daniel H. Wells home was torn down to make way for the Templeton Building (completed in 1890) at the intersection of Main Street and South Temple. It was originally called the Central Hotel, but later changed to the Templeton Building. Zion's Savings Bank occupied its lower floors beginning in 1889 while the hotel kept the top two floors. Eventually, the entire building was turned into office space, but eventually it was also brought down and the Kennecott Building was put in its place (1963).
