Description Image shows a boarding house that was used for washing the dead and wounded who were brought from the mine after an explosion. Clothes of the dead miners were thrown in a pile on the porch.
Comment Winter Quarters was an old mining town near Scofield in Utah's Carbon County. The town is now a ghost town, but is most remembered for a huge explosion in 1900 that lead to the death of nearly 200 miners.
