Description UNSAFE OR HAZARDOUS CONDITION STANDARDS * REFERENCE COMMENTS Office Building The portable fire extinguisher located in the back of the office building was last inspected in 1993. 1910.157(e)(3) The exit door from the back of the office building was not marked as an exit. 1910.37(q)(1) The two above ground fuel tanks were not provided with dikes to contain a fuel spiII. 1910.106(b)(2)(vii)(a) A diked area large enough to contain a spill from either of the tanks should be provided. No signs warning against open flame or smoking were posted near the above ground fuel tanks. 1910.106(b)(6) The drive chain and sprockets on the pump on the diesel tank were not enclosed by a guard. 1910.219(f)(1) The paint on the Metropolitan shed contains 93,928 ppm lead. .1910.1025 The requirements of the lead standard would apply if the paint was disturbed and became airborne. The sheets of wall board on the west wall of the heavy equipment bay of the shop building, contain 65% asbestos. An initial monitoring has not been conducted to determine employee exposure to asbestos. 1910.1001(d)(2) The asbestos is exposed and of a type that can easily become airborne, so a management plan needs to be developed that will prevent this from happening.
