Description The Newton Brothers, William "Bill" and Isacc "Ike", opened a shoe shop in 1905 next to Cobble Rock Station on Vernal Avenue. They made saddles, cinches and boots. Although Bill was left blind from a childhood accident and Ike was born with a physical handicap disability, they worked hard togeher to make a successful company. They used mostly hand tools but later expanded the enterprise with modern equipment to do business on a large scale. This saddle was made for Carbon County fair.
