Description |
Lester H. (Jack) Girt was born in 1878. He came to the Vernal area and homesteaded on Diamond Mountain. He built a cabin and started a dairy business with forty milk cows. He built a cellar to keep the milk and cream cool and then hauled it to Vernal once a week. He eventually sold his place to N.J. Meagher. He moved to Vernal and was a businessman for many years in town. He was well off but lived in modest circumstances. He helped others with his money. He never married. He died in May 1966. |
