Mines--Gilsonite; Thimble Rock Mine |
Description |
It was in the late 1930's when the mines at Rainbow slow down and the mining ceased. Mr. Ford maintained his position with the mining company for the many years of the mining company. This is the mine at Thimble Rock, it shows two veins that were mined out. Some of the timbers are still holding as they were wedged in tightly, others fell to the bottom of the mines. The veins are still visible today. |
