Description Recorded on the back of the photo: The Vernal Gun Club was organized in 1902. It is the oldest club of that type in the State of Utah. One of its first projects was to import the quail from California that we have in the Valley at the present time. Members of Vernal's first Gun Club are listed from left back row: Dr. Charles E. Hirth, William M. Anderson, Richard Jensen, N.J. Meagher, Dr. Brownfield, Gene Daniels, Brigham Carter (standing behind), Ike Burton, Dallas Witbeck (boy behind), Walt McCoy, John Bennion (young man) Gus Emmert, Vern McCarrell (young boy extreme right). Front row, Stan Ashton, George Bennett, Dan Hillman, John Odekirk, Charles Odekirk, Horace Coltharp, Thomas O'Donnell, Less Ashton and Lynn Ashton.
