Description |
Buzz Larsen built a store and opened a Western Auto Store and then a cafe at 555 East Highway 40. Then he opened a service station. Shorty (Donald C.) Hatch and Clive Sprouse, owners of the Flying Diamond oil business purchased Larsen's operation in the late 1960's or early 1970's. Hatch took over the cafe and turned it into a bar. Shorty passed away in 1993 and his wife Cheryl ran the business for another year. She sold it in 1993 to Glenda Rogers and Russell Head. The name was changed to Howdy's Hill Top. It had three pool tables and three dart machines and sponsored dart leagues |
