Description John Jarvie sold liquor in Brown's Park. He and his wife Nellie Barr came to the park in 1880. He had a store in Brown's Park and liquor became a popular item, one of the many items that were sold at his store. In addition to his responsiblities as postmaster, storekeeper and thirst quencher, Jarvie took over the ferry operation when Doc Parsons died.
