Had the Echo Park Dam been constructed in the mid 1950's water would rise around the Rocky cliffs of Steamboat rock (center) to make the proposed reservoir. The construction project was proposed as a way to develop the Upper Colorado River Basin. Flaming Gorge Dam was chosen as the construction project for water storage on the Green River. |
