Description Saddle tree made at Newton Brothers. William "Bill" and Isaac Newton bought out the Showalter's Vernal Harness and Saddle Company on Main Street in October of 1909. The enterprise flourished and by 1918 their holdings, including land and cattle were worth almost $85,000.By 1938 the company had moved several times and employeed approximately 20 local workers. The Newton Saddle Company and the Newton men became a legend in Vernal.
