Little Chief's son got shot in the arm. In this letter the Higbee's explained that a member of the Goship's band came to "make peace" with the Indians who resided near the Mormon settlers. According to the letter, after the Indian from Goship's band arrived the Indians who lived near the Mormon settlement attempted to kill the visiting Indian, and did not suceed because the Mormon settlers protected Goship's representative. The letter then explains how the next morning they heard shots down by Little Chief's settment, and upon arrival found that members from One Ship and Goship's band had fired upon Little Chief and his people. Not only did Little Chief's son get shot in the arm, but the One Ship and Goship Indians also killed two horses and drove off the rest of Little Chief's peoples horses. Little Chief offered to return the horses as a token of friendship.
