This is a letter from Brigham Young to Chief Walker requesting his assistance. Brigham Young asked Chief Walker to send two of his people with Mormon settlers so they could translate for the settlers as they looked for land in a "warmer" climate. He wanted the Indians to understand that they had a mission from the "Great Spirit" to teach the Indians, and if Walker and his people chose to not "injure"the settlers they would be blessed. He then describes some of the "blessings"that Walker and his people will experience if they chose to follow his counsel |
